About Us
We are a group of engineers and researchers at Utah State University who enjoy geocaching in our free time. Over the past few years we’ve studied and thought about the idea of linking information to location.
Marion Jensen
USU OpenCourseWare Director
Marion Jensen’s interests and research includes collaborative composition, wikis, open content, instructional games, social systems, and geotagging content. He currently serves as both the director of Utah State University’s OpenCourseWare (OCW), and the Utah OCW Alliance. The latter includes seven universities in Utah that have committed to releasing their online courses in an open format. Marion teaches at Weber State University and Utah State University. Prior to this, Marion worked as an instructional web designer for Weber State University, and served as a corporate trainer for Albertson’s Inc. in Boise, Idaho. He received a B.S. in political science, and a masters degree in instructional technology, both from Utah State University.
Justin Ball
Engineer
Justin Ball has written numerous web-based software, Facebook applications, and more. Justin currently serves as as the Teachers Without Borders Fellow at the Center for Open and Sustainable Learning. Justin’s interests include social software, social networks, and self organized learning.
Tom Caswell
Instructional Designer
Tom Caswell is working on a Ph. D. in instructional technology at Utah State University. He currently serves as a testing engineer at the Center for Open and Sustainable Learning. Tom also enjoys geocaching and runs a website dedicated to the great outdoors.
